General Purpose of Position
Manages the Appleton Operations with the guidance of the VP – NA PMC Operations to ensure an efficient, safe, and profitable operation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operations
  • Leader of the Appleton Site and Site Operations Business Team
  • Responsible for the management, organization, planning, and execution of the Appleton Site Business Plan
  • Responsible for the Appleton Site results.
  • Responsible for working with the VP - NA PMC Operations on developing short and long-term strategies to reduce the operating costs in a systematic and timely fashion.
  • Responsible for providing Product Business Leader with current operating capacity and limitations, which could impact future product mix and other market segments.
  • Responsible for Contract Negotiation Team on Union contracts, and the interpretation and implementation of contracts. Coordinate/utilize the Corporate Human Resource Group as needed.
  • Responsible for coordination and utilization of the Quality Systems Team and maintaining ISO certificate.
  • Responsible for the coordination with the Human Resources Team Leader for personal legal compliance
  • Communicate current market conditions (overall market trends, domestic and foreign, competition, new equipment) that will impact the overall operations, both laterally and vertically, within the organization.
  • Responsible for all new equipment installations and/or modifications of existing equipment to improve product quality and reduce product cost.
  • Preparation of Monthly Business Issues Report.
  • Invite and accept feedback from others and provide upward feedback.

2. Ensure market share growth as outlined in the Marketing plan.
3. Deliver on the Unit Cost structure as outlined by the operating budget.
Education/Experience/Skills
  • College graduate.
  • Self-starter, capable of working with no supervision.
  • Analytical in nature, and capable of understanding the textile manufacturing processes (Weaving, Seaming, Finishing), forming fabric design and application.
  • Extremely thorough in organizational design and planning skills. Capable of developing and implementing both short- and long-range plans and strategies.
  • Excellent knowledge of the textile and paper industries.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or skill in leading and motivating people.
  • Ability to be involved in numerous projects at one time and manage projects to completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a typical office environment involving exposure to fluorescent lighting, potential ink fumes, contact with synthetic materials and air conditioning.
